Umbehr started the concierge practice in 2010. In concierge medicine, patients pay cash — in Atlas’ case, a monthly flat fee — and traditional insurance isn’t accepted.
This news release details more about Palomino.
AtlasMD announced today that Michael Palomino, M.D. will join the concierge family medicine clinic effective May 6, 2013. Palomino joins practice founder Josh Umbehr, M.D. and Doug Nunamaker, M.D.
Palomino received his doctorate from The University of Kansas School of Medicine and completed residency training at Wesley Medical Center in 2010. He was formally the sole practitioner of a traditional family medicine clinic.
“I chose family medicine because it allows me to be closely connected to families and build long-lasting relationships. The approach at AtlasMD allows for getting back to the roots of a patient-centered practice,” states Palomino.
AtlasMD is unique in that health insurance is not accepted. Rather, through a monthly membership fee that ranges from $10 to $100, patients get 24-hour access to the doctors through phone calls, text messages, e-mail, home visits, same-day appointments and wholesale prices on medications and labs.
Umbehr remarked, “We’re thrilled that Dr. Michael will join Dr. Doug and me in providing innovative care. It takes a particular type of doctor to practice this style of medicine where the focus is truly on the patient. He has a tremendous amount of integrity and we couldn’t be happier.”
AtlasMD will hold an open house at the clinic from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 2 at 10500 E. Berkeley Square Parkway, Suite 200. RSVP is requested. Walk-ins are welcome. Call 316-260-6454 or email email@example.com
