Dr. Jeff Puglisi, who worked with Specialdocs to transition his Greenwich, CT group practice to the concierge model last spring: “It’s not about the money. I was sick and tired of not being the kind of doctor my patients need. It’s about taking control of your future, and being able to be there for your patients for the long haul.” The only downside he feels is “guilt for not having transitioned sooner.”
Dr. Jeffrey Puglisi, an internist at Glenville Medical Concierge Care in Greenwich, has been named one of Concierge Medicine Today’s annual ‘Top Doctors in Concierge Medicine’ for 2016. The distinction is held by less than 1 percent of physicians across the country and Puglisi is one of only 21 physicians in the U.S. to earn the distinction this year. The honor is determined based on factors such as healthcare delivery innovation, clinical excellence, patient ratings, charitable efforts, medical influence, community education and other relevant indicators.

Dr. Puglisi, with his partners Steven Mickley, MD and Judith Shea, MD, opened Glenville Medical Concierge Care last May to offer comprehensive private medicine to the Greenwich community. Patients were quick to embrace the hallmark benefits of concierge medicine, including longer, unhurried visits, same/next day appointments and direct, 24/7 access to their physician by cell phone, email or virtual consultation.
“We congratulate Dr. Puglisi on this well-earned, important honor. He truly is one of our ‘special docs,’” said Roberta Greenspan, CEO of Specialdocs Consultants, a healthcare consulting firm that assisted the Glenville medical team with their transition to concierge care.
“I’m thrilled and also very humbled to receive recognition from an organization that shares our belief in the value of patient-centered, personalized care,” said Dr. Puglisi. “Every day I am grateful to practice medicine the way it was meant to be practiced…and go beyond just treating illness to focus on long-term wellness.”
