Outcomes vary in small-town business transitions | union-bulletin.com

Apr 16, 2017 – DAYTON (OHIO) — Some call it the “silver tsunami,” this wave of Baby Boomer business owners who are now reaching retirement age.  In towns as small and rural as Dayton, such a wave, coupled with a lack of planning for succession in the business community, can spell doom.  Just last year, two small downtown shops — Jacci’s Yarn Basket and Hometown Carpets — closed permanently because their owners retired.
