Dr. Renee Dua is the Founder and Chief Medical Officer of Heal. Prior to Heal, she ran a thriving nephrology practice as one of the only female kidney doctors working in the San Fernando Valley. She built and ran successful dialysis units and led the migration of her practice from paper to electronic medical records in 2010. Renee’s leadership skills are also renown, as she was appointed Chief of Medicine to both Valley Presbyterian and Simi Valley Hospitals in Southern California. Her medical acumen is recognized in her position as adjunct faculty of medicine at UCLA. Renee is a trailblazer woman in STEM, having done her BS in Biochemistry at UC San Diego, followed by Medical School at Chicago Medical School, residency in internal medicine at UCLA and then her fellowship in nephrology at USC. Renee co-founded Heal with her husband Nick Desai, a serial technology entrepreneur. Together, they live in Southern California with their two toddler sons, who are their pride and joy. In her rare free time, Renee enjoys cooking creative things with her sons and traveling around the world.
