GSK teams up with 23andMe

GlaxoSmithKline is investing $300 million in consumer genetics company 23andMe to establish a four-year partnership for discovering new medicines with the help of human genetics. The British drugmaker hopes the partnership will also result in faster recruiting of patients for clinical trials. CNBC reports that 80% of 23andMe’s customers have agreed to participate in research.
