About Position
Ready made expandable practice. Take over for retiring physician. Excellent office staff. Wonderful place to live and practice. Lots of water sports. Skiing and mountain sports only 4 hours away. Schools are excellent. Eastern Virginia Medical School nearby in Norfolk available for academic or teaching positions. Paid six weeks vacation/yr.
Job Requirements
- Must be Board Certified.
- Experienced in patient-centered care.
- Excellent bedside manner
- Professionalism
- Knowledgable in general internal medicine, both office and hospital care.
- Knowledgeable in using Epic and Athena EMRs (preferable, but not required.)
Duties/Responsibilities Primarily Include
See patients in office for yearly physicals, and for a variety of medical complaints and illnesses. Diagnose and treat complex and multiple medical problems in adult patients.
Take care of patients in hospital including admission and discharge and daily visits. Take office and hospital call every fourth weekend. Give patients your cell phone number and be available to them 24/7 except on weekends when not on call. Maintain hospital privileges, attend hospital meetings when required. Make nursing home and home visits when necessary for homebound patients. Maintain electronic medical records on all patients. Review and notify patients of test results.
