The research behind better retention, pricing, and patient experience, plus where physicians go to talk through it in person this October.
Most physicians building a concierge or membership practice are working off instinct. A hunch about pricing. A guess about why patients leave their old doctor. A sense that patient experience matters, without a way to measure how much.
That’s the gap Concierge Medicine Today (CMT) has spent almost two decades trying to close.
Since 2007, CMT has been collecting patient survey data, pricing benchmarks, workforce trends, and practice performance metrics from inside this industry, not from the outside looking in.
That visual infographic library now lives in one place: conciergemedicinetoday.net/visuals, a free, complete collection of CMT-produced infographics covering practice economics, physician workforce, patient experience, and market growth. Free to use with attribution, organized so physicians, journalists, and researchers can actually find what they need.
Here’s what’s in our Visuals Library, and why it matters to your practice, your patients, and your staff.
What patients are actually telling you
CMT surveyed 1,000 patients who left their current physician in search of a concierge doctor. The reasons weren’t complicated, but they were revealing:
- 25% left over convenience and long wait times
- 21% said their doctor asked them fewer than five questions
- 18% said they felt like a number
- Only 4% left over cost or insurance incompatibility
Read that last one again. Cost is the reason most practices assume patients are leaving. It’s the reason cited least. Patients aren’t walking away from a bill, they’re walking away from a rushed visit and a doctor who never really asked. If you’re building a retention strategy in your own practice, that’s the number to build it around.

What the market is already paying for
CMT’s 2026 pricing research brief compared what patients are already spending on GLP-1 medications against what they’d spend on a concierge medicine membership. The gap is smaller than most physicians assume, self-pay GLP-1 costs run close to what a concierge membership costs annually.
Here’s the part worth sitting with, as CMT’s Editor-in-Chief put it: almost none of that GLP-1 spending comes with a continuous physician relationship attached to it. No one adjusting the dose. No one managing side effects. No one there when a patient stops.
Patients are already proving they’ll pay out of pocket for a health outcome. The opportunity for concierge medicine isn’t to compete with that spending, it’s to be the relationship that earns trust alongside it.
What your staff and your culture are up against
The library also covers the operational side, training costs, staffing frameworks, and the customer service gap most practices don’t realize they have. It’s one thing to tell your team to deliver a five-star experience. It’s another to see, side by side, what traditional practices spend on service training compared to what concierge and hospitality-driven practices invest, and what patients notice as a result.

Why this matters beyond the data
None of this is about the concierge model competing with anyone else. CMT has always been an independent trade publication and remains one, and CMT reports across the full range of practice models, independent, hospital-affiliated, vendor-supported, and investor-backed. The value of the visuals library isn’t in proving one model is right. It’s in giving physicians who are building or refining a practice something they rarely get in this field: real data, gathered from inside the industry, organized so it’s usable.
As CMT’s Editor-in-Chief has said for year, “It’s no longer about being the best doctor in the world. It’s about being the best doctor for the world, for your patients, and for your local community.”
Data doesn’t replace that mission. It just makes it easier to act on.

See it explained live, in Atlanta
This data doesn’t just live on a page. It’s the backbone of conversations happening every October at the Concierge Medicine Forum, CMT’s annual conference for physicians, care teams, and industry leaders building sustainable, patient-centered practices.
CMF 2026 runs October 15-17 at the Forsyth Conference Center in Atlanta. Three days of sessions, pre-conference workshops, and an Exhibitor Hall where you can compare tools and services on your own schedule, not a vendor’s. CMF sells out most years.
