Concierge Medicine Today Launches Decision Tool Suite, Anchored by the First Patient Psychographic Model Built for Subscription-Based Medicine

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Drawing on patient survey data collected between 2013 and 2024, and compiled and published over the two years that followed, the study identifies four distinct patient types physicians encounter when marketing and running a membership-based practice.

ATLANTA, GA — Concierge Medicine Today (CMT), the independent trade publication covering concierge and membership-based medicine since 2007, today announced the launch of CMT’s Decision Tool Suite, a collection of free, research-based self-assessment tools built from nearly two decades of CMT’s own patient surveys, complaint data, and industry interviews.

The suite is anchored by The CMT Patient Study, believed to be the first patient psychographic model built specifically for subscription-based, membership, and concierge medicine. Drawing on patient survey data collected between 2013 and 2024, and compiled and published over the two years that followed, the study identifies four distinct patient types physicians encounter when marketing and running a membership-based practice: Level-Uppers, Coverage Keepers, Fresh-Starters, and Careful Movers, each defined by how they feel about their current doctor and whether they want a new practice to still work with insurance and Medicare.

“Most healthcare professionals can explain their version of the practice of medicine with total confidence, and their lack-luster patient reviews, marketing strategy, hospitality standards, and how they build new patient referrals, and their reputation with a shrug,” said [Michael Tetreault], Editor-in-Chief of Concierge Medicine Today. “Not because they don’t care. Because no one ever gave them a real way to measure it. That’s exactly why and how patients quietly leave and referrals quietly dry up. The practices quietly plateau, without a team member or physician ever learning why. We hope these tools close that gap.”
